How to Choose the Right Driving School
Not every driving school is built the same. The difference shows up in three places: how quickly your student passes the road test, how confident they are the first time they drive alone, and how safely they’re driving five years from now.Here’s what to look for, and how we measure up.
State Licensing
Florida law requires every commercial driving school to be licensed by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Ask for the license number before you book. If a school can’t produce one on request, that’s your answer.

Instructor Experience
Behind-the-wheel instruction is a skill, not a credential. An experienced instructor reads a student in the first ten minutes (anxious, overconfident, distracted, ready) and adapts the lesson accordingly. Ask how long the lead instructor has been teaching and what their background was before they started.
First-Attempt Pass Rate
A school’s pass rate is the most honest number they have. It’s a fair question to ask on the first call, and any school confident in its program will answer directly.
Pick-Up and Drop-Off
A school that picks up from your home saves a parent an hour per lesson and lets a student settle in before instruction starts. Pricing usually depends on distance from the school’s primary service area. Reasonable, but worth confirming upfront.
